In addition to shipping the most comprehensive COVID workplace solution recently and bringing on a new CEO, we’ve been busy creating new products on both the software and hardware front. Here are four significant upgrades and what it means for your worksites, staff, and revenue.
Intrinsically Safe Gateways for Hazardous Environments.
Spot-r now offers C1D1 and C1D2 intrinsically safe gateways to connect your intrinsically safe Spot-r tags & network extenders to the Internet. This is particularly relevant for industrial and energy companies that operate with flammable and potentially combustible gases and dusts, making safer and more connected options for workers in turnarounds and hazardous, flammable environments.
Improved Evac and Muster Software for better workflow
We’ve upgraded our evac and digital muster software for better functionality and visibility. Using the different zones within the facility and dedicated muster point hardware, you can follow people through the map to know where they are at any given time.
Spot-r assigns safety labels to every worker to know the safety status of the area where they are currently located. The labels are specific, letting you know if person A is:
Safe: Located in a safe zone or muster point and out of range of any potentially dangerous situation. This lets you know how people have safely made it to the muster point and who they are.
In danger: Located within a dangerous area of the worksite or failed to reach the muster point. Using local telemetry technology, it pinpoints the worker’s exact location on the map so immediate assistance can be dispatched to retrieve the worker from the area of danger.
This way, every member is accounted for, and if any worker might still be on site, it can locate the exact part of the site they are. Incident commanders and muster wardens can view this in lists and maps to have all your staff details, work zones, and real-time data on their safety status during emergency situations.
Better Tool & Wrench Time Analytics
On the flip side of this is the improved productivity and use of resources. Since the system follows the activity of the staff in the workplace, site managers can now track:
Labor Costs: This helps monitor and understand the use of time within the facility and how it affects turnaround rates. Things like log-in times, hours spent on the job, and logout times give you data to help manage costs
Labor Productivity: This helps identify how much value you are getting from different labor resource burn. Things like time investment in work zones, bottlenecks causing inefficiencies and excessive trips gives you data to drive better productivity
Equipment Efficiency: The system also monitors the use of equipment within site. Site managers get updates on the use of equipment, who‘’s used the equipment, and for how long. This information also helps track deliverables from third-party vendors, ensuring maximum output at all times and controlling costs.
Relay pod 2.0 – Solar power cloud gateways and extenders.
The relay pod 2.0 lets you choose how to deploy your extenders; solar, plug-in or long-life battery. Designed for long-term deployments projects where mains power may not be available, but indefinite uptime is desired, the relay pod 2.0 reduces the operating cost for your smart infrastructure considerably.
The current system runs on 12-18 month batteries or indefinitely with A/C or solar power options, so this is much less service costs over time. Get set up in 1 day with no IT support, as cloud gateways connect directly to the Internet via cellular modems.
Spot-r is used across industries like construction, industrial and energy companies, saving them a ton of resources and manpower.
