In June 2019, Triax formed a partnership with MSSI to offer clients more robust access control for our Spot-r solution. By adding this feature, sites were now able to maintain a greater level of security while offering dedicated access points that could also document time and attendance and limit entry to only those with the proper credentials. We spoke with their Sales Representative, Shane Meadows, to learn more about his role and what value he sees in the partnership.
Triax: Tell us about your background and how you started with MSSI?
Shane Meadows: I was a regional manager in the delivery industry for over 20 years. I needed a change of pace and wanted to become involved with a local company and to be home with my family more often. I knew several people who were employed with Modular Security Systems Inc. and I liked what I heard and what I saw about them.
Triax: What do you like most about your job and what MSSI does?
SM: MSSI is a local company that treats its’ employees very well. We take great pride in all our perimeter security offerings like the patented Modular Access Control (MAC) Portal, our new MAC Safe-T-Check™ with turnstiles, access control, and thermal cameras that measure skin temperature. Personally, I take a lot of pride in knowing we help keep major construction sites around the world safe and secure for some of the biggest names in industrial and commercial construction. We have had units everywhere from Alberta, Canada to New York City, to Kazakhstan to Tampa Bay, to San Francisco and Seattle. From right here in the Tri-State of Ohio, West Virginia, and Kentucky we have been able to send our perimeter security products around the world. I think that is awesome!
Triax: What are the most common reasons you hear for clients needing an access control solution?
SM: Site safety and security. Companies come to us and ask about access control and for tracking worker training certifications, time-keeping, and payroll. Giving them the ability to track a wide range of data for the workers on their site is almost always a must!
Triax: What are the advantages to the MAC system vs other access control solutions?
SM: The major advantages to the patented MAC Portal are that it is built through the combination of shipping container modification with a wide range of security options like turnstiles, thermal cameras, and access control technology. Depending on our customers’ site specific needs we can build in a wide range of configurations and floor plans with anywhere from 1 to 10 turnstiles in a single unit. So, it is portable, customizable, and built to last.
Triax: Why is access control more important than ever in the time of COVID?
SM: It’s so very important to keep workers safe and secure while on the job. We all have a vested interest in getting things back to normal as soon as possible and access control can play a huge roll in that…
Construction is essential in terms of the growth and prosperity of not just the places where these major projects are taking place, but society as a whole. Access control can potentially help get us back to the normal we all long for.
